About Us
Japanese Student Association at Orange Coast College will aim to promote and preserve Japanese culture at Orange Coast College by hosting cultural and social events for Japanese students, exchange students, and anyone who appreciates Japanese culture to gather and have a good time! Besides, we will be dedicated to promoting a better understanding of the various aspects of Japan and Japanese culture on campus. Japanese Student Association will be a social group and serve as a forum for people to meet others who share their interests in Japanese culture. We will hold general meetings as well as various social events. Japanese Student Association is open to students of any cultural or ethnic background!

Hello. I'm Taira Shimizu, President of OCCJSA. I became president from the spring of 2024. When I took office, the organizational structure and organizational management of JSA were not solid, and many members were left, and I was in a state where I couldn't even do activities, let alone management. I took this problem seriously and analyzed it. And I thought it was important to make each person responsible and provide an environment where they can work hard, so I worked hard to create such organizations, changed the structure, and succeeded in stabilizing the operation. From now on, I will continue to promote activities in line with the currents based on MISSION and VISION.

The Academic team is a specialized department that provides information on internship and volunteer opportunities. We are helping students gain important experience in building their careers. Our goal is to provide useful information so that they can learn and grow at their own pace. This initiative will allow students to have a broader perspective and make meaningful decisions in their future career choices.
Culture Team
We are a culture team! The culture team is planning to hold an event targeting people who are interested in Japanese culture and let them know more about Japan.
In addition, our members are not only Japanese nationals, but also blood from various countries! I'm waiting for everyone to participate in the event!
